Assemble
 Paper
is a huge part of our process. Most of our cards include either
handmade or specialty papers as background or collage elements.
The basics of our cards are the five cardstocks we use, ranging
from 30-100% recycled material.
We even have one 100% post-consumer recycled cardstock. The
collage cards are all hand-assembled.
The "classic" Crafty Cards are made with a three-step printing
process starting with a background pattern printed from a linoleum
block. An image is printed in a second color from a polymer
plate, and finally the text is printed in a third color from
hand-set type.
Order
This is the busy office where orders come in and get shipped
out. Custom orders get handled here, too. Because of all the
variables that go into custom invitations, it often takes a
great deal of communication between printer and client to make
sure everybody's happy. Locals can make appointments for face-to-face
meetings here in the printshop, but out-of-towners can still
get custom work done if they are willing to communicate clearly
and in a timely manner via phone and/or email.
In addition to being home to all this card-making and custom
printing, the Crafty Cards shop is also the headquarters of
the letterpress zine Ker-bloom!, now in its ninth year
of production.
